This week we will be welcoming Secretary Clinton and President Clinton to our Bay Campus for the Leadership for Future Generations event, which will take place on Thursday 16th November in front of an invited audience of University partners, school pupils, students and staff.
Due to the nature of this visit, there will be a number of security measures in place that will require us to make some changes to the normal operating environment on Bay Campus, both in advance of their visit and on the day itself. There will be an increased security presence on our campus, with a physical barrier around the Great Hall, which may affect the normal passage between buildings.
In addition, please note that:
- On Wednesday 15th November, the Bay Campus Library will be closed from 8:00pm and the Great Hall will be closed from 4:00pm until the conclusion of the visit. Both buildings will reopen for business as usual on Friday 17th
- There will be disruption to the roads and bus stops at the Bay Campus on Thursday 16th Buses will not be entering the campus on that day and all buses will instead drop-off and pick-up at the bus stop on Fabian Way. Alternative road directions will also be in place on campus all day. Normal service will resume on Friday 17th November.
- Finally, there will be a large number of visitors and guests on the Bay Campus attending the event, which will affect usual parking arrangements on campus. Guests attending the event on Thursday 16th November will be guided to use the staff car park, which will reduce the available allocation of spaces for students and staff.
We thank you for your understanding, and look forward to hosting such a prestigious event here at Swansea University.
