[:en]I wanted to send you an update on bus services, as I appreciate there have been some significant disruptions this term as a result of the pandemic, and other contributory factors, including roadworks.
First of all I wanted to apologise for the disruptions you have experienced; to take this opportunity to acknowledge your frustrations; explain the cause of some of the issues, and highlight what we are doing to try and ensure the situation continues to improve.
What’s Causing the Disruptions?
The disruptions are largely due to driver shortages which have been brought about by the covid-19 pandemic. These have been compounded by major roadworks going on across the City, which have resulted in ongoing disruptions to normal bus services.
What We’re Doing to Improve Things
As you know, the bus services are run by commercial operators and not the University. These include First Bus, who run campus to campus, as well as a number of other services across the City and beyond.
We are working closely with First Bus Senior Management to ensure they are aware of the issues Swansea University students and staff are facing, and are putting measures in place to address them.
During this period of disruption, First Bus have agreed you can use your student day pass to travel on all First Bus services operating between Bay Campus, City Centre, Singleton Campus, Uplands, Sketty and Hendrefoelan Student Village.
Campus to Campus Service Alternatives
The following services can be used as an alternative to the campus to campus services – your student day pass will be accepted:
For Services from Singleton Campus to Swansea Bus Station: 8,9,10,4,3A,2A – onward journey to Bay on X1, X5, X7, 38, 9A from Bays C,D,E,F
For Services from Bay Campus to Swansea Bus Station X1, X5, X7, 38, 9A – onward journey to Uplands ,Sketty, Killay from Bay R – 20,20A and 21A Staying Up to Date
It is difficult to communicate all the daily disruptions at present, but we recommend you:

Yn gyntaf oll, hoffwn ymddiheuro am yr anghyfleustra i chi; achub ar y cyfle hwn i gydnabod eich teimladau o rwystredigaeth; esbonio’r rhesymau dros rai o’r problemau; ac amlygu ein gweithgareddau i geisio sicrhau bod y sefyllfa’n parhau i wella.
Beth yw’r rhesymau dros y tarfu
Y prif beth sydd wedi tarfu ar wasanaethau bysus yw prinder gyrwyr o ganlyniad i bandemig Covid-19. Ar ben hyn, mae gwaith mawr ar ffyrdd ledled y ddinas wedi effeithio ar y gwasanaethau bysus arferol.
Yr Hyn Rydym ni’n ei Wneud i Wella’r Sefyllfa
Fel y gwyddoch, gweithredwyr masnachol sy’n gyfrifol am y gwasanaethau bysus, nid y Brifysgol. Mae’r rhain yn cynnwys First Bus sy’n gweithredu’r gwasanaeth o gampws i gampws, yn ogystal â nifer o wasanaethau eraill ar draws y ddinas a’r tu hwnt iddi.
Rydym yn gweithio’n agos gydag Uwch-reolwyr First Bus i sicrhau eu bod yn ymwybodol o’r problemau sy’n effeithio ar fyfyrwyr a staff Prifysgol Abertawe, a’u bod yn rhoi mesurau ar waith i fynd i’r afael â’r rhain.
Yn ystod y cyfnod hwn o anghyfleustra, mae First Bus wedi cytuno y cewch ddefnyddio eich tocyn dydd myfyrwyr i deithio ar holl wasanaethau First Bus rhwng Campws y Bae, Canol y Ddinas, Campws Singleton, Uplands, Sgeti a Phentref Myfyrwyr Hendrefoelan.
Gwasanaethau Eraill i Gyrraedd ein Campysau
Gallwch ddefnyddio’r gwasanaethau canlynol yn lle’r gwasanaethau o gampws i gampws – bydd eich tocyn dydd myfyrwyr yn cael ei dderbyn:
Gwasanaethau o Gampws Singleton i Orsaf Fysus Abertawe: 8, 9, 10, 4, 3A, 2A – teithio ymlaen i’r Bae ar X1, X5, X7, 38, 9A o gilfannau C, D, E, F
Gwasanaethau o Gampws y Bae i Orsaf Fysus Abertawe: X1, X5, X7, 38, 9A – teithio ymlaen i Uplands, Sgeti, Cilâ o Gilfan R – 20, 20A ac 21A
Y Diweddaraf
Mae’n anodd rhoi gwybod i chi am bopeth sy’n effeithio bob dydd ar wasanaethau ar hyn o bryd, ond rydym yn argymell eich bod yn:

Dweud Eich Dweud Rydym yn cynnal grwpiau defnyddwyr bysus rheolaidd lle cewch gyfle i ddweud eich dweud. Byddwn yn cynnal un ychwanegol ar 22 Mawrth er mwyn i ni allu rhoi’r wybodaeth ddiweddaraf i chi a thynnu sylw at welliannau. Gallwch hefyd ddefnyddio y Platfform Llais Myfyrwyr, Unitu, i rannu eich adborth neu gynnig awgrymiadau.
Rhagor o Wybodaeth a Chysylltu â ni
Yn ogystal â gweithio gyda First Bus i awgrymu gwelliannau i’r gwasanaethau ar eich rhan, rydym hefyd yn ceisio sicrhau eich bod yn cael cymaint â phosib o’r wybodaeth ddiweddaraf am deithio gennym ni. Cadwch lygad ar gylchlythyr y myfyrwyr a sianelau My Uni yn y cyfryngau cymdeithasol ac ewch i’n tudalennau gwe: https://www.swansea.ac.uk/sustainability/travel/.
Rwyf innau ar gael i sgwrsio ar-lein hefyd o ddydd Llun i ddydd Gwener (9am – 10am). Rwyf ar gael ar-lein yma (sgroliwch i lawr i waelod y dudalen) https://www.swansea.ac.uk/sustainability/travel/
Diolch am eich amynedd a gallaf eich sicrhau ein bod yn gweithio’n galed y tu ôl i’r llenni i wella gwasanaethau bysus i chi.
Cofion gorau,
Jayne Cornelius
Eich Swyddog Teithio Cynaliadwy [:]
