[:en]Thank you all for your patience over the past few weeks with regards to bus service disruptions, which we do appreciate have been causing many of you frustration and concern. As you know, the disruptions have been caused by a number of issues, including the impacts of Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic on driver availability, as well as extensive roadworks taking place across the City.
The Good News!
We want you to know that we are in constant communication with Campus to Campus service provider First Cymru with regards to the ongoing issues, and are taking your concerns and feedback directly to the organisation’s senior management. As a gesture of goodwill, the team at First Cymru have agreed to reduce the cost of the Term 3 Bus Pass to £66 (£44 with My Travel Pass). This will be available to purchase from April, and will cover all First Cymru buses in Swansea, Neath, Port Talbot, Carmarthenshire (up to the bus station), and Bridgend (up to the bus station).
I’m also really pleased to let you know that First Cymru has just appointed a number of new bus drivers, being trained as we speak. As a result of this, you should start to see improvements in service levels, including significantly reduced disruptions and cancellations to services very soon.
Please continue to stay in touch and please feel free to bring your feedback and suggestions to the next Student Bus User Group on the 22nd March: register to attend via Zoom here.
As always, I will be available on Live Chat (details on our travel webpages here) each morning between 9 and 10am, or you can email me directly at: j.cornelius@swansea.ac.uk.
We are really sorry that services have not been up to standard this term. We do appreciate your patience and please rest assured that we are continuing to advocate on your behalf.
Your Sustainable Travel Officer
Jayne Cornelius[:cy]Diolch i chi gyd am eich amynedd dros yr wythnos diwethaf mewn perthynas ag aflonyddu i wasanaethau bws. Rydym ni’n cydnabod bod hyn wedi bod yn achosi rhwystredigaeth a phryder i lawer ohonoch. Fel y byddwch chi eisoes yn ei wybod, mae sawl achos i’r problemau aflonyddu hyn, gan gynnwys effeithiau Brexit a phandemig Covid-19 ar argaeledd gyrwyr bysys, yn ogystal â gweithfeydd helaeth ar y ffyrdd ar draws y Ddinas.
Y Newyddion Da!
Rydym ni am i chi wybod ein bod ni’n cyfathrebu’n barhaus â darparwr y gwasanaeth Campws i Gampws, First Cymru, mewn perthynas â’r problemau parhaus hyn ac rydym ni’n cyflwyno eich pryderon a’ch adborth yn uniongyrchol i uwch-reolwyr y cwmni. I ddangos ewyllys da, mae tîm First Cymru wedi cytuno i leihau cost Tocyn Bws Tymor 3 i £66 (a £44 gyda Fy Nhocyn Teithio). Bydd y rhain ar gael i chi eu prynu o fis Ebrill, a bydd yn cynnwys yr holl fysus First Cymru yn Abertawe, Castell-nedd, Port Talbot, Sir Gâr (hyd at yr orsaf fysus), a Phen-y-bont ar Ogwr (hyd at yr orsaf fysus).
Mae hefyd yn bleser i mi roi gwybod i chi fod First Cymru newydd benodi sawl gyrrwr bws newydd sydd wrthi’n derbyn hyfforddiant ar hyn o bryd. O ganlyniad i hyn, dylech chi ddechrau profi gwelliannau mewn lefelau gwasanaethau, gan gynnwys llawer llai o wasanaethau sy’n cael eu haflonyddu neu eu canslo’n fuan iawn.
Cadwch mewn cysylltiad ac mae croeso i chi ddod ag adborth ac awgrymiadau i’r Grŵp Defnyddwyr Bysus Myfyrwyr nesaf i’w gynnal ar 22 Mawrth: cofrestrwch i ddod drwy Zoom yma.
Fel bob amser, byddaf ar gael ar Live Chat (manylion ar ein tudalennau gwe teithio yma) bob bore rhwng 9am a 10am, neu gallwch fy e-bostio’n uniongyrchol yn j.cornelius@abertawe.ac.uk.
Mae’n flin iawn gennym ni nad yw’r gwasanaethau wedi bod yn dderbyniol y tymor hwn. Rydym ni’n gwerthfawrogi eich amynedd a hoffwn eich sicrhau ein bod ni’n parhau i ddadlau ar eich rhan.
Eich Swyddog Teithio Cynaliadwy[:]
Id rather have the reduced price bus pass in september, no need for it from april now that lectures have finished. I have payed £90 and have had to spend over £40 now on taxis because the busses havent been arriving.
As Tom has already mentioned, this “gesture of goodwill” seems rather hollow – far fewer people need the pass from April as lectures are done after Easter for the majority of students
I’d rather have student day tickets continue to be usable on buses throughout the city rather than just the 4,8,9, and 10.
