Wales Airshow
The famous Wales Airshow is taking place 6th and 7th of July, and it’s an absolute must-see if you’ve decided to stick around in Swansea.
It will include ground displays, static aircraft, exhibitions, music, rides, and of course a spectacular airborne show.

Live Music
If you enjoy live music there is plenty on offer across the city, and you can experience great music on your doorstep at Singleton Park. Singer/songwriter James Arthur will be live Thursday 18th July, followed by classic Ibiza on Friday 19th July. If that’s not your vibe, don’t worry because Let’s Rock Wales! will be taking place on Saturday 20th July.
There are also venues across the city with lots to offer, including the Grand Theatre, Dylan Thomas Theatre, and the Swansea Arena.
Don’t forget to check out the numerous small, independent live music venues across the city too!
Beach Life
Singleton and Bay Campuses are both a stone’s throw away from fantastic beaches, but if you venture a little further, you’ll reach the famous Gower beaches known for their outstanding natural beauty.
Many of our beaches have long stretches of golden sand and if you fancy venturing into the water, there are loads of activities to get involved in around Swansea, including surfing, windsurfing, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding! Make the most of our beautiful coastline and maybe even find yourself a new hobby. Click here to see what’s available. If you’re planning on enjoying a picnic with friends on the beach, just remember to clean up after yourselves! You could even earn ‘green points’ through the Swell app.
Local Attractions
If you haven’t had time to explore the city, now is your opportunity to visit some local attractions.
Why not visit Mumbles, a short trip along the seafront, where you’ll find loads of independent cafes, restaurants, bars, and shops.
If you fancy cycling there, Swansea Promenade is perfect for a bike ride! We have made Santander Cycles annual memberships FREE to all Swansea University students so visit our webpages for instructions on how to sign up.
We know the Welsh weather isn’t always known for being dry, so don’t worry, there are still places to visit on a rainy day! There are some great museums and galleries, including the National Waterfront Museum, the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery and our very own Singleton Campus Egypt Centre. For a great family day out, you can visit the real rainforest zoo in the heart of Swansea City Centre. Plantasia is home to 40 different species of animal including Cayman crocodiles, meerkats, monkeys, leopard cats and many more.
If you like your water sports a little warmer, the LC is the place to go! It’s one of Wales’s premier Waterpark and Leisure complexes where you can swim, surf, and climb.

Want to try some ‘lush’ Welsh produce? Well, you’re in luck because our local markets are running throughout the summer. You can choose which location suits you best from the Marina, Mumbles to Uplands.
Don’t forget to visit our Swansea Market too which is the largest indoor market in Wales and has been crowned as Britain’s Best Large Indoor Market 2024!
