Discovery has made a big difference this year and with the help of our staff and student volunteers, we have achieved a lot!

Volunteering
Over 600 volunteers took part in volunteering with Discovery.
Story book
One short story book was created, designed & printed by discovery volunteers to send to children in the Swansea area.
Awards
Four awards were given to Discovery & our volunteers. The Investors in Volunteering award, The Cynnig Cymraeg recogntition, Mered Award, Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol awards & runner up at young volunteer of the year.
Sessions
Over 190 volunteering sessions were held.
Nearly 2000 hours were spent by students volunteering on Discovery’s student led projects.
Welsh Language
Over 20 volunteering opportunities in Welsh were held. These sessions enabled all speakers & learners of Welsh to gain confidence in the Welsh language whilst volunteering.
Children
Over 260 children supported through our children’s projects including penapls project, buddied reading and school daze.
Opportunities
Two give it a go weeks where students and staff tried out volunteering!
Penpal letters
Almost 300 penpal letters were shared with local community members.
