We’ve done it again! Your university has secured the prestigious Green Flag Award which recognises excellence in grounds management and development.
The Green Flag Award scheme is the international mark of quality for parks and outdoor spaces and highlights the University’s commitment to creating and maintaining sustainable green spaces that are safe, welcoming and open to all.
Following your feedback the University’s Estates and Campus Services team has been hard at work breathing new life into the outdoor spaces at the Bay and Singleton campuses.
These efforts have included extensive planting schemes designed to enrich the campus’ biodiversity, the creation of new outdoor spaces for relaxation and study, and the installation of stunning murals and artworks that celebrate the University’s unique history.
Additionally, several heritage buildings on campus are in the process of being carefully refurbished.
This ongoing project to enhance the outdoor environment has required close collaboration between the Grounds, Campus Operations, Projects and Sustainability teams, who are passionate about sustainability and being nature positive.
