Here in Swansea, we have accessible, smooth and level cycling paths that are a pleasure to use. Active Travel including cycling and walking are excellent ways to get about. We encourage University students and staff to make sustainable travel choices wherever possible.

And now, with over 100 shiny new blue bikes and 7 docking stations across the city, we’re happy to announce that we’re launching Santander Cycles as Swansea University Cycles.

Swansea University Cycles is an affordable and sustainable way of getting around town and to and from campus. It’s easy to use and great for the environment. You can even benefit from a  student membership for £10 per year, that will give you the first 30 minutes of every ride for FREE!

We’ve got you covered! From cycle shelters, shower facilities and cycling hoops, cycling back and forth to campus shouldn’t be hard. We’ll be updating our active travel webpages as the year goes on with other news and events so be sure to check it out.

Please remember that electric scooters are still not legal to use on cycle paths, pavements or roads in Wales.

We hope you found this update useful. If you have any questions, email us at travel@swansea.ac.uk and we’ll aim to get back to you as soon as we can.
