As the Autumn Term comes to an end, we would like to wish you a happy and restful festive break. We would also like to remind you that the majority of University services will be closed over the Christmas period.
To enable you to plan ahead, please see the information below on opening hours for key University services and support available over the Christmas break.
The Library and University buildings
All buildings at Bay and Singleton Campuses (except for the libraries) will be open until 17.00 Monday 23rd December, and will re-open again on Thursday 2nd January at 08.00.
There have been some changes to the Library opening hours over the festive period. Check them out here.
Public transport through the holiday season
First Cymru will operate reduced services over the Christmas period from Monday 16 December to Monday 6 January. You can view the timetables here. The term time timetable will resume from Monday 6 January.
The Swansea University (U1) Park & Ride shuttle bus operating between Bay Campus and Fabian Way Park & Ride will end on Friday 13 December at 18.48pm, and resume from Monday 6 January at 07.40am.

Welfare support
Whilst University services will be limited over the vacation period, we have listed a variety of resources below if you are struggling during this time.
- TogetherAll – An online digital mental health service which provides a safe place to talk, share and support others like you, moderated by professionals 24/7.

- Mind – The Mental Health Charity
- The Samaritans – There’s always someone there for anyone who needs someone. The Samaritans offer a 24-hour telephone helpline. Tel: 116 123 (UK)
Help in a crisis
We hope very much that you do not find yourself in an emergency situation over the holiday period, however details of what to do in a crisis can be found here.
Our Security Services will continue to operate on campus 24/7 during this period, you can reach them by calling 01792 604 271 or using the Safezone app.
MyUniHub and Faculty Information Desks
MyUniHub, along with Science and Engineering and Medicine, Health and Life Science Information teams will be operating a remote service on the 23rd December.
All desks will then be closed for the Christmas break and reopen on the 2nd January.

Catering outlets
With lower footfall on campus at this time of year, there will be a reduced service in our catering outlets from Monday 15th December until 08.00 Thursday 2nd January, when all outlets will open again. Take a look at our catering webpages for full details of opening times at specific outlets.

Switch off over Christmas
Help us save energy on campus this Christmas. Before you head off for the holidays, be sure to close all windows, and check that your laptops, screen monitors, radiators and non-essential equipment are turned off.

Swansea Employability Academy
Swansea University Employability Academy will be closed for the festive period, Monday 23rd December to Friday 3rd January.
Any queries received to general or staff inboxes during that period will be answered as soon as possible after Monday, 6th January.
If you require careers and employability support during this closure period, there are a wealth of resources available here.
Sport Facilities
To continue with your sport and fitness goals, you can view Swansea Bay Sports Park’s opening hours here, which includes the Wales National Swimming Pool, Singleton and Bay Campus Gyms, and the Athletics and Hockey Centre.
All facilities will be closed on 25nd – 26nd December and 1st January. Singleton Gym and the Wales National Swimming Pool will operate reduced hours from 27nd – 31st December, until normal service resumes for all facilities on Thursday 2nd January.
IT Service Desk
The IT Service Desk will provide limited phone support from 8:30a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on the following holiday dates: December 24th, 27th, 30th, and 31st.
Normal phone support will resume on January 2nd, from 8am.
Please note that the IT Service Desk walk-in desks will be closed during this period and will reopen on January 6th, operating at the usual times and days.
