The Royal National Institute of Blind people (RNIB) are touring public and HE libraries in Britain to celebrate 200 years of Braille and are coming to Singleton Campus Library and Taliesin Mall Room on Tuesday 25th March, between 10am and 3pm.
In collaboration between Swansea University, RNIB, RNIB Cymru, Swansea Public Library (Council) and Singleton Hospital Library, the aim of the event is to showcase the relevance and importance of braille and raise awareness of the many applications it still has.
You are welcome to attend and can drop in and out whenever, no registration is necessary, so bring your friends for a fascinating, enjoyable day.
Highlights of the event include:
- Learn basic Braille by sight in 30 mins.
- Explore and discover Braille LEGO bricks.
- Anne Wilkins has been confirmed as the keynote speaker and is even giving us a song (you may recognise her from the TV.)
We hope you can join us for this incredible milestone for inclusivity.
