Introducing Careers & Employability!
We’ve been working hard to improve your careers service over the last few weeks.
We’ve brought together our central and faculty employability teams to launch a new combined service, called Careers & Employability. This enhanced service will help us provide further careers information, advice and guidance, internship and placement opportunities and access to employability tools and resources, through integrating all expertise and resources.
You can drop in to speak to our team, we’ll be located at:
- Singleton Campus – The Abbey Stable Block
- Bay Campus – School of Management Employability Hub (Atrium building)
What’s new?
- Enhanced Careers Information Advice and Guidance: we’ve expanded the ways you can speak to a Careers Advisor or Careers Consultant. Got a quick question? Use our Careers LiveChat or call in to a weekly drop-in session. Need a little more support? Book a 1-2-1 appointment.
- Jobs Board: we’re maximising resource by using a single jobs board, Job Teaser. Swansea students and graduates are highly sought after by many employers, and this is where we’ll list opportunities we’re aware of, and also work with local, national and international companies who will also post opportunities here. This also includes part-time jobs.
- Internship, Placement and Year in Industry opportunities: we’re streamlining our processes for students and employers to make further efficiencies and will continue to schedule support opportunities through your time away from university.
- We’re the new home for clinical placements, early childhood and PGCE placements too, combining expertise and best practises.
- Careers Fairs, Events & Workshops: we’re developing our events calendar to bring you more opportunities to network with employers and develop skills, to help your graduate career. All careers fairs, events and workshops will be listed on Job Teaser.
We’re continuing to support:
- Activity within the curriculum: Our team will continue to deliver teaching across the curriculum, and are working with academics in each course to equip you with the professional skills necessary for career success in the current and future job market.
- OnDemand access to careers tools and resources: from a CV and cover letter checker, to interview simulators and assessment centre support; we’ve got specialised platforms available to help 24/7. The Career Development Course is also a great place to start.
- For students facing barriers to recruitment, our Career Boost team is still on hand to offer support and guidance.
- Through our enhanced Graduate Support Programme, you can continue to access lifelong careers and employability support.
We’re here to support you at every stage of your career development. We’re excited to see where your career journey takes you!
We’re redeveloping our social media channels and will share these with you soon.
Best Wishes,
Careers & Employability.
