Spotlight on Professor Uzo Iwobi CBE FLSW

Professor Uzo Iwobi is a British-Nigerian solicitor and equalities practitioner. She is a trailblazing leader whose work has transformed the landscape of equality and inclusion in Wales. She is the Founder and CEO of Race Council Cymru, and a former Specialist Policy Adviser on Equalities to the Welsh Government. Her leadership has shaped national policy, empowered communities, and inspired generations.

She is also the Founder of the African Community Centre Wales and Vice President of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Her accolades include a CBE (Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) for services to racial equality and a Fellowship of the Learned Society of Wales (FLSW). Between 2013 and 2016, she also served as a Trustee for the British Red Cross.

Professor Iwobi’s keynote will explore the power of representation, mentoring, and advocacy in education and beyond. Her story is one of resilience, vision, and impact.
