We’re looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to help us make this year’s Green Economy Conference & Exhibition run smoothly!

Volunteering is a great way to be part of the action, meet new people, and enjoy one of Wales’ most inspiring regional events.

You can choose a short time slot or stay for the whole day – whatever works best for you!

 

Venue: Swansea Building Society Arena

Dates: Wednesday 12th November (set-up) and Thursday 13th November (event day)

Available Volunteer Time Slots

 

Date: Wednesday 12th November

1️⃣ Pre-event Set-Up & Exhibitor Support
Time: 2:00pm – 6:00pm – 3 volunteers needed

Main Tasks:

  • Set up exhibitor stands with name boards, tables and chairs
  • Guide exhibitors (arriving between 4pm and 6pm to their stands)
  • Offer your assistance if help is required with unloading/carrying equipment to their
    stands
  • Be a friendly, informed point of contact for exhibitors

 

Date: Thursday 13th November

1️⃣Morning Set-Up & Exhibitor Support
Time: 7:30am – 9:30am – 3 volunteers needed

Main Tasks:

  • Welcome exhibitors arriving to set up (some will have already set up the day before)
    through the Stage Door
  • Guide them to their stands using the floor plan
  • Offer your assistance if help is required with unloading/carrying equipment to their
    stands
  • Be a friendly, informed point of contact for exhibitors

⃣   Registration & Welcome Desk
Time Options:
7:30am – 10:00am (morning rush) – 5 volunteers needed
10:00am – 1:00pm (steady flow) – 3 volunteers needed
1:00pm – 4:30pm (light coverage) – 2 volunteers needed

Main Tasks:

  • Assist with the set-up of registration including banners and signage (first slot only)
  • Welcome attendees and assist with check-in
  • Hand out event materials to each delegate
  • Hand out name badges to speakers
  • Provide information and directions throughout day
  • Liaise with a member of the 4theRegion team (via Whatsapp chat) if attendees need
    assistance that can’t be provided at the registration desk

The first time slot is the busiest – after that, the role is mainly about keeping the desk covered (and presentable) and supporting delegates who arrive later.

3️⃣General Support & Guidance Team
Time Options:
● 9:00am – 12:30pm – 2 volunteers needed
● 12:30pm – 4:30pm – 2 volunteers needed

Main Tasks:

  • Be available throughout the venue to direct delegates to rooms, panel discussions, and
    workshops
  • Provide ad-hoc help to exhibitors, speakers, or attendees
  • Step in as microphone runners if needed during Q&As

4️⃣Close-Down Support
Time: 4:30pm – 5:30pm – 4 volunteers needed

Main Tasks:

  • Assist the 4theRegion team with pack-down
  • Collect signage, banners, and leftover materials
  • Check all equipment and supplies are gathered before departure
