We are pleased to confirm that the planned industrial action by First Bus drivers and support staff due to take place from 7 December to 21 January has been cancelled.
Normal services resume from 1st December
With First Bus services now running as normal:
- Information about First Bus services for Swansea University students is on the First Bus website.
- Term One timetables run until 13 December.
- Non term time timetables, which run from 13th December to 4th January, will be available on the First bus website and the First Bus app.
- The X1 Campus to Campus service will continue to operate during non-term time.
- Student engagement monitoring will continue as normal, and students are expected to attend all scheduled lectures.
- The U1 service to Bay Campus continues as normal. The temporary U2 service that was planned for strike days only from Fabian Way Park and Ride to Singleton Campus will not be running.
Refunds for bus pass holders
If you have purchased annual, term time or monthly bus passes, you are eligible to apply for refunds for any strike days on which your travel was affected.
Exam transport
Additional transport will be in place during the exam period in January to help students get to and from exams. This is in addition to First Bus services. Further details, including timetables will follow soon.
We do appreciate the significant disruption caused to students and staff during this period of industrial action. Our Travel Survey is now open and we encourage you to use this opportunity to tell us about your experiences of getting to and from campus.
