[:en]Student walking through singleton park I hope you’ve had a great summer and are looking forward to welcoming you back to campus!
There are a few important travel updates we’d like to make you aware of:
New Campus to Campus bus timetables are now live on the travel webpages. Please note some route changes this year, including:

  • The brand new 8A shuttle service serving Hendrefoelan Student village to Singleton Campus, which links to the 8,9, and 10 services for Bay Campus.
  • The number 9 from Singleton Campus will now stop off at the Swansea Quadrant Bus Station (Bay D) and the Fabian Way Park and Ride on its way to Bay Campus.
  • The new 10a service, a shuttle service between the City Centre (Kingsway) and Bay Campus will provide an additional service during peak times for students in city centre accommodation. This will lead to an increase in service frequency up to every 7 minutes.

Further details, including timetables, can be found on First Cymru’s website.
Our Top 10 Travel Tips:

  1. Ditch your car. There is no parking on campus for students between the hours of 8am and 4pm Monday to Friday* Parking across the city is at a premium, so leave your car at home and choose active travel or public transport instead.
  2. Try walking or cycling to campus at least once or twice a week to save money, get active and reduce your carbon footprint.
  3. Claim another year of free Santander Cycles membership to help you save money on living costs and get you travelling more sustainably – find out more
  4. Make sure you’re cycling safely and keeping your bike secure. We’ll send you more details soon about our ‘Switch On’ cycling roadshows on 11th (Bay) and 18th October (Singleton), where you can get cycling advice and guidance, free locks and lights, and get your bike marked.
  5. Take a look at these bike/accessory discounts, to make cycling around town more affordable.
  6. Get yourself a My Travel pass, which gives you 1/3 off bus travel in Wales – more info online here.
  7. Think about investing in a bus pass, which can be used on all First Cymru, not just the Campus to Campus services – info about ticket options and prices is online here.
  8. Make sure you get the FirstBus App so you can check capacities, plan journeys and get your tickets, all in one place.
  9. Follow @firstcymru on Twitter, to stay abreast of local travel updates.
  10. Check out My Uni Journey’s handy online travel tool, to help you plan your journey from start to finish.

*There are some student parking permits available to those meeting eligibility criteria. Please note, we’ll be introducing new Automatic Numberplate Recognition Systems (ANPR) on campus in the New Year. This means if you don’t have a valid permit allowing you to park on campus, your number plate will not be recognized, and you will receive an automatic Parking Charge Notice. We’ll keep you posted on this.
