[:en]automatic number plate recognition camera and barrierWork is underway to introduce an enhanced automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) system at the Bay Campus, and to replicate this at Singleton. This forms part of ongoing activity to improve car parking and traffic management at Singleton Park and Bay Campus by capturing all vehicles entering the sites.

How will the introduction of ANPR affect students?

  • The current campus parking arrangements will continue, with no parking at Bay or Singleton Park Campus for students between the hours of 8AM and 4PM, Monday to Friday.
  • Out of Hours permits continue to be available to students at a cost of £20 per year, allowing parking on campus outside of the above core hours (I.e., between 4PM and 8AM, Monday to Friday and on weekends). Those with valid out of hours permits are not required to pay to park on top of their permit cost.
  • Student permits to park on campus during core hours will continue to be made available to those students meeting certain criteria. Up to date information is available on our travel web pages.
  • Outside the core hours of 8AM-4PM, Monday to Friday, those without an out of hours (or other valid) permit, including visitors, will need to pay to park on campus using the app or available pay stations – see pay to park pricing and further details on our website here.

When will the new system be introduced?

The new ANPR system will go live on June 1st 2023. It is important to note that, from this date, parking charge notices will be issued automatically to:

  • Those parking on campus between 8AM and 4PM, Monday to Friday without a valid permit.
  • Those parking on campus on weekdays between 4PM and 8AM, or on weekends, without paying to park or being in possession of an out of hours (or other valid) permit.

Enabling Works

Enabling works are currently taking place to support the introduction of the new solution including:

  • Additional cameras being installed at the entrance to the Bay Campus to provide a ‘global’ (whole campus) ANPR solution. The technical infrastructure necessary to achieve this, is in part already set up.
  • Installation of cameras at the main entrances and exits to Singleton Park Campus.
  • The installation of modern pay stations accepting payment by card, coin and through a dedicated ‘Ringo’ parking app.
  • The development and testing of new permit application processes, procedures and software.

What are the alternatives to parking on campus?

As part of our sustainability and wellbeing strategies, and net zero commitments, we encourage students to choose active forms of travel wherever possible. For those unable to walk or cycle to campus, we recommend travelling by bus. Our Sustainable Travel Officer is working closely with bus service providers to develop enhanced services for September 2023, in line with current student needs – keep an eye on the student newsletter and our bus travel web pages for updates.
For those who do have to drive but are not eligible for a parking permit, information about parking close to campus is online – we recommend the Recreation Ground for Singleton Park or the Fabian Way Park and Ride for Bay Campus. If you do have to drive and will be parking off campus, make use of official parking facilities and ensure you park safely and considerately, in areas without parking restrictions and not on pavements or grass verges.
We have developed FAQs on our travel web pages here. If you can’t find the information you need there, please email Estates Customer Services.[:cy]automatic number plate recognition camera and barrierMae gwaith ar y gweill i gyflwyno system adnabod rhifau cerbydau yn awtomatig (ANPR) ar Gampws y Bae, aca’i hefelychu ar Gampws Singleton hefyd. Mae hyn yn rhan o weithgaredd parhaus i wella rheolaeth parcio ceir a thraffig ar Gampws Singleton a Champws y Bae drwy gofnodi’r holl gerbydau sy’n dod i mewn i’r safleoedd.

Sut bydd cyflwyniad ANPR yn effeithio ar fyfyrwyr?

  • Bydd y trefniadau presennol ar gyfer parcio ar y campws yn parhau, ac ni fydd hawl gan fyfyrwyr i barcio ar Gampws y Bae na Champws Singleton i fyfyrwyr rhwng 8am a 4pm, o ddydd Llun i ddydd Gwener.
  • Bydd hawlenni y tu allan i oriau craidd yn parhau i fod ar gael i fyfyrwyr am gost o £20 y flwyddyn, sy’n eu galluogi i chi barcio ar y campws y tu allan i’r oriau craidd uchod (h.y. rhwng 4pm ac 8am, o ddydd Llun i ddydd Gwener ac ar thros y penwythnos). Ni fydd yn rhaid i bobl â hawlenni y tu allan i oriau craidd dalu’n ychwanegol ar ben costau eu hawlenni.
  • Bydd hawlenni myfyrwyr i barcio ar y campws yn ystod oriau craidd yn parhau i fod ar gael i fyfyrwyr sy’n bodloni meini prawf penodol. Mae’r wybodaeth ddiweddaraf ar gael ar ein tudalennau gwe teithio.
  • Y tu allan i oriau craidd 8am tan 4pm, o ddydd Llun i ddydd Gwener, bydd rhaid i bobl heb hawlen y tu allan i oriau craidd (neu hawlen ddilys arall), gan gynnwys ymwelwyr, yn gorfod dalu i barcio ar y campws gan ddefnyddio’r ap neu’r peiriannau talu sydd ar gael –  gweler prisiauoedd talu wrth barcio a manylion pellach ar ein gwefan yma.

Pryd bydd y system newydd yn cael ei chyflwyno?

Bydd y system ANPR newydd yn weithredol ac yn fyw ar 1 Mehefin 2023. Mae’n bwysig nodi o’r dyddiad hwnnw, y bydd hysbysiadau o cosb dâl am barcio yn cael eu rhoi’n cyhoeddi’n awtomatig yn yr achosion canlynol:

  • Pobl sy’n parcio ar y campws rhwng 8am a 4pm o ddydd Llun i ddydd Gwener heb hawlen ddilys.
  • Pobl sy’n parcio ar y campws yn ystod yr wythnos rhwng 4pm ac 8pam, neu aros dros y penwythnos, heb dalu i barcio neu feddu fod yn ddeiliad ar hawlen y tu allan i oriau craidd (neu hawlen ddilys arall).

Gwaith Gweithfeydd Galluogi

Mae gwaith gweithfeydd galluogi eisoes wedi dechrau ar waith i gefnogi gwaith cyflwyno’r system newydd, gan gynnwys:

  • Mae camerâu ychwanegol yn cael eu gosod ger ar mynedfa Campws y Bae i ddarparu system ANPR ar gyfer ‘fyd-eang’ (y campws cyfan). Mae’r isadeiledd technegol sy’n ofynnol er mwyn cyflawni hyn eisoes wedi’i osod yn rhannol.
  • Gosod camerâu ger ar prif fynedfeydd ac allanfeydd u Campws Singleton.
  • Gosod peiriannau talu modern sy’n derbyn taliad drwy gerdyn, arian parod ac ap parcio pwrpasol ‘Ringo’.
  • Datblygu a phrofi prosesau cyflwyno cais am hawlen barcio, gweithdrefnau a meddalwedd newydd i gyflwyno cais am hawlen.

Beth yw’r opsiynau amgen i barcio ar y campws?

Fel rhan o’n strategaethau cynaliadwyedd a lles, a’n hymrwymiadau sero net, rydym ni’n annog myfyrwyr i ddewis dulliau teithio ffurfiau llesol o deithio pryd bynnag y bo modd. I’r rhai bobl nad oes modd iddynt gerdded neu feicio i’r campws, rydym ni’n argymell teithio ar y bws. Mae ein Swyddog Teithio Cynaliadwy yn gweithio’n agos gyda darparwyr gwasanaethau bws i ddatblygu gwasanaethau gwell ar gyfer mis Medi 2023, yn unol ag anghenion presennol myfyrwyr – cadwch lygad ar gylchlythyr y myfyrwyr a’n tudalennau gwe teithio ar y bws i gael yr wybodaeth ddiweddaraf.
I’r rhai bobl y mae’n rhaid iddynt yrru ond nid ydynt yn gymwys am hawlen barcio, mae gwybodaeth am barcio’n agos i’r campws ar gael ar-lein – rydym ni’n argymell y Cae Hamdden (y Rec) ar gyfer Parc Singleton neu Barcio a Theithio Ffordd Fabian ar gyfer Campws y Bae. Os bydd yn rhaid i chi yrru a pharcio oddi ar y campws, defnyddiwch gyfleusterau parcio swyddogol a sicrhewch eich bod chi’n parcio’n ddiogel ac yn ystyriol, mewn mannau heb gyfyngiadau parcio ac ni ddim ar balmentydd neu ar leiniau ymylon glaswelltog.
Mae gennym yr atebion i Gwestiynau Cyffredin ar ein tudalennau gwe teithio. Os nad ydych fyddwch chi’n gallu dod o hyd i’r wybodaeth rydych chi’n chwilio amdani yno, e-bostiwch Gwasanaethau Cwsmeriaid Ystadau.[:]
