The Richard Burton Annual Lecture

28th November 2024
6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Taliesin Arts Centre, Singleton Campus, Swansea University (United Kingdom)

The Richard Burton Annual Lecture is here once again, and all students are welcome to join us for an exciting and exploratory evening at our Taliesin Arts Centre.

The Richard Burton Annual Lecture is part of an annual series of events led by Swansea University and this year’s lecture comes at a turbulent time for traditional industry in South Wales, as the steel works in Port Talbot navigate the ongoing crisis.

If you want to learn more about the history, present and future of traditional industries across South Wales then this is your opportunity to do so! The lecture is free, and we would encourage you to sign up along with your friends, classmates, parents or anyone else who would like to further their understanding and insight.

Geraint Talfan Davies will be our keynote speaker for the evening, Geraint is a writer and broadcaster who has had a long involvement with public policy and the arts in Wales.

Join us for a memorable evening as we explore ‘The Soul of Iron’: The Pasts and Futures of Merthyr and Port Talbot, Thursday 28th November, 6PM – 7PM.
