Introducing Library Skills Hours
Starting this week, we are running a new scheme until the end of term called Library Skills Hours.
Similar to how your personal mentors and lecturers have office hours, a Senior Library Officer will be available at set times for you to drop in either in-person or over Zoom to pick their brains.
We’re excited to help students in a face-to-face capacity whilst also being able to connect with you online wherever you are at the time.
Whether you are an individual with an enquiry, or a group of course mates with similar questions, our library officers’ two-hour sessions can help you with:
-
-
-
Literature searching
-
Evaluating sources
-
Finding specialist information
-
Referencing
-
and more
-
-
Where some enquiries don’t require a full appointment, this allows you the opportunity to get a quick answer from your subject specialists, with no booking required.
Our Office Hours will be:
Mondays 10.00-12.00, Interview Room 4, Bay Library and via Zoom
Thursdays 10.00-12.00, Interview Room 1, Singleton Park Library and via Zoom
The Zoom link to these sessions will remain the same all term so if you’d like to join a session, connect with us here. Alternatively, the meeting details are below:
Meeting ID: 924 1150 1296
Passcode: 084479
When you join the call, you may be placed in a waiting room while a library officer is helping another student. If that happens, we thank you for your patience.
Can you let me know the Library opening times in Singleton please.
Bore da Teagan,
From the 5th until the 25th of January, Singleton Campus Library will be open from 7am through to 2am on Monday-Friday, and from 8am until midnight on the weekends. Keep an eye on the library webpage for more updates to their opening hours from the end of January onwards.
There are a number of alternative study spaces at both our Bay and Singleton Park Campuses which you can use for informal study purposes.
Please check our Study Spaces page for more information regarding these spaces, including those which are open when the Libraries are closed.
Kind regards,
